Urban revitalization in Moldova: 6 contracts signed!

On April 27, 2018, 6 contracts of co-financing 6 pilot-projects of urban revitalization in 6 cities from the Republic of Moldova were signed during the grant contracts’ signing ceremony.

The pilot-projects were selected within a public competition ”Small Projects Fund 2018 – urban revitalization edition”, at which participated 14 cities of Moldova. The projects are from different fields (spatial planning; strengthening of housing associations; community interaction; social inclusion etc.) and will be implemented in all regions of Moldova: North (Balti, Edinet, Ocnita), Center (Ungheni), South (Cimislia) and Gagauzya (Comrat), till December 2018. All projects include both: elements of infrastructure and social measures.

The 6 pilot-initiatives are co-financed within the project no. 309/2017/M3 “Support for Moldovan administration in the implementation of the National Strategy for Regional Development in Moldova 2016-2020 in the field of urban policy and urban development” implemented within the Polish Aid programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. The total amount of the Polish Aid support is 4 millions MDL.

The project consortium consists of Ministry of Investment and Economic Development of the Republic of Poland;  Ministry of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment of the Republic of Moldova; Representation of the Foundation ”Fundacja Solidarności Międzynarodowej” in the Republic of Moldova/ Information Centre for Local Authorities.
