Courage, Solidarity and Team Spirit for Safer Communities

Volunteering today is a mature form of social participation — an expression of solidarity and education for life. It is through such initiatives that young people learn to act with determination and as a team. Daniella Misail-Nichitin, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Moldova

The festival was organized by Solidarity Fund PL in Moldova, the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Gura Bîcului Village Hall, within the framework of the ‘EU4Moldova Resilience: Secure State, Resilient Communities’ project, funded by the European Union.

Volunteer firefighters are neighbours helping neighbours — the heartbeat of community resilience. That is why the European Union invests in strengthening the volunteer firefighting network and enhancing the safety of Moldovan citizens. Iwona Piórko, Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Moldova

The event also welcomed representatives of the State Fire Service of Poland, who shared their experiences in training, risk management, and engaging communities in prevention activities.

Solidarity and civic spirit are the values that unite volunteer firefighters in both Poland and Moldova. Through international cooperation, we can build safer and more united communities together. Tomasz Kobzdej, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of Moldova

The ‘EU4Moldova Resilience’ project foresees the construction of 10 new volunteer firefighter stations, the renovation of another 10, and the equipping of 35 units with modern tools and gear — with a total investment of 44 million MDL, financed by the European Union.
