Project Completed: Energy Efficiency in Chokhatauri
The project "Energy Efficiency for a Better Standard of Living: Chokhatauri Municipality Towards a Sustainable Energy Future", implemented by the Solidarity Fund PL in Georgia from 2023 to 2025 with the support of the European Union, has come to an end.
Thanks to the project, residents of Chokhatauri gained access to modern, environmentally friendly infrastructure that improves their daily quality of life and promotes conscious energy use.
Project achievements include:
- equipping 7 kindergartens in the Guria region with energy-efficient systems;
- installing an electric vehicle charging station in the centre of Chokhatauri;
- setting up smart solar benches in the city park, offering free Wi-Fi and mobile device charging ports;
- providing modern, energy-efficient lighting along the road to the Udabno Monastery.
Additionally, to support local energy efficiency initiatives, 25 small grants were awarded to individuals, grassroots groups, local civil society organisations, media outlets, and small business representatives.
The project contributed to improving the quality of municipal services and promoting energy-saving solutions in public spaces – especially in rural areas.
