Experts stressed that development cooperation is undergoing a transformation – moving from the traditional “soft power” model towards an integrated approach that combines diplomatic, economic and aid components.

The discussion highlighted the need for better cross-sector coordination, greater efficiency of actions, and improved communication both with the public and between institutions implementing aid programmes.

Special attention was given to the planned Development Cooperation Investment Fund (FIWR), which has the potential to act as a catalyst for reforms and strengthen the strategic dimension of Poland’s engagement.

One of the key topics was Poland’s role in the reconstruction of Ukraine. Participants agreed that effective recovery requires long-term institutional and infrastructure support, and that Poland – thanks to its transformation experience – has the potential to play a significant role in this process.

The debate showed that development cooperation is not only an expression of solidarity, but also a tool for building Poland’s position on the international stage.
