JICA is Japan’s development agency, operating in over 150 countries, with extensive knowledge and experience in implementing development cooperation projects.

What Does the Foundation Bring to the Partnership?

After several years of work in Ukraine and Moldova, we offer an in-depth understanding of local contexts, laws, and cultural issues. We have experience and an extensive network of contacts, which facilitates reaching partners, quickly identifying problems, and taking effective action. In Ukraine, we cooperate with every tenth local government (hromada) and every fourth ministry.

We are united by our mission and goals. Both JICA’s and SFPL’s missions include working to ensure people’s safety and improve their quality of life. This is an important partnership for us, enabling us to scale up our activities. The first tangible results of our cooperation will be visible within two months of training the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (DSNS) in humanitarian demining. This will significantly improve civilian safety in Ukraine.

“I am confident that the alignment of our organisations’ goals and our joint work will significantly contribute to increasing support for Ukraine and its people,” emphasised SFPL President Rafał Dzięciołowski after signing the memorandum.

This cooperation would not have been possible without the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Tokyo – for which we extend our sincere thanks!
