Study Tours to Poland on Management of Education at Local and Central Levels

Solidarity Fund > What we do > Education > Study Tours to Poland on Management of Education at Local and Central Levels

The project is one of the elements strengthening the education system reform in Ukraine, which is a part the broader decentralisation reform. It is financed by the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ) under the EU U-LEAD programme framework. Organised by Solidarity Fund PL, the study visits to Poland for representatives of the Ukrainian education sector are an important complementary element for the trainings and consultancy carried out under the Swedish SKL International programme (with participation of Polish experts). The visitors are the heads of oblasts and hromada education departments and teacher training centres, school headmasters and leaders of consolidated hromadas from various regions of Ukraine, and the representatives of the Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Science. The delegations spend a week in a partner region in Poland, visiting schools, municipality offices, education authorities, teacher training centres, and other education-related institutions. The discussions during these meetings address issues such as optimisation of schools network, educational strategies, out-of-school education, self-governments’ educational tasks, regional education, financing, etc. In 2017, Poland received delegations from Zaporizhia, Zhytomyr, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Poltava Oblasts. The delegates visited Upper Silesia, Greater Poland, Żuławy, and Opole Region.
