Solidarity Fund PL in Ukraine donates personal protective equipment and medical devices to five Ukrainian hospitals to fight the coronavirus

The Fund’s Representative Office in Ukraine has purchased and donated medical devices and personal protective equipment (PPE) to hospitals in Berdychiv (Zhytomyr Oblast), Klevan (Rivne Oblast), Sokal (Lviv Oblast) and Vinnytsia to fight the coronavirus. The devices and PPE was purchased upon consultations with the management of the medical centres.

During an official handover ceremony, Damian Ciarciński, Consul General of Poland in Vinnytsia, donated medical devices and PPE to fight COVID-19 to Vinnytsia Regional Clinical Hospital for War Veterans (27 May 2020) and to Berdychiv Regional Hospital of War Veterans of Zhytomyr Oblast Council (29 May 2020). Eliza Dzwonkiewicz, Consul General of Poland in Lviv, donated medical and protective equipment to Sokal Central District Hospital (29 May 2020) and Rudky Community Hospital (2 June 2020). Also, Piotr Matusiak, Consul of the Republic of Poland in Lutsk handed over medical devices and protective equipment. The donation went to Rivne Regional Hospital of Veterans of War of the Rivne Regional Council (29 May 2020).

Donated devices and PPE include:

• protective gloves (5700 pairs);
• FFP-3 protective masks (2400 pcs);
• multiple-use protective bodysuits (900 sets);
• protective plastic shoe covers (400 pairs);
• scrub caps (350 pcs);
• protective goggles (70 pcs);
• pulse oximeters (28 pcs);
• medical beds (9 pcs);
• touchless thermometers (5 pcs);
• oxygen concentrators (3 pcs);
• medical suction pumps (3 pcs);
• patient monitors (2 pcs);
• a defibrillator.

 

The purchase of the medical devices and personal protection equipment was financed by the Polish development cooperation programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.
