Protective Equipment to Fight The Coronavirus Supplied to Bolnisi Municipality

On the 9 May 2020 the team of the Solidarity Fund PL Representative Office in Georgia donated equipment to support the fight against the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) in Bolnisi municipality, where the city and ten villages that are locked down on since 22 March 2020 due to the pandemic.

Following the agreement between the Representative Office and the municipality, the first to receive the equipment are the volunteers and municipality workers who provide humanitarian aid in the locked down villages, as well as the micro-entrepreneurs (grocery shop owners) who are gradually reopening their businesses. Due to severe mobility restrictions in Georgia the equipment was handed over at the check point at the entry to the city of Marneuli.

The donation included:

1. (1500) protective masks;
2. (1000) face shields;
3. (600) personal use hand disinfectants;
4. (50) hand disinfectants for public buildings; and
5. (3) liquid disinfectant spraying devices.

The purchase of the equipment and disinfectants was financed by the Polish development cooperation programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.
