Solidarity Fund PL buys Medical Equipment to Fight Coronavirus in Ukraine

During a press conference on the 24 April 2020, which gathered Maksym Kozytskyi, the Head of the Lviv Regional State Administration and Liubomyr Rak, the Director of the Pulmonary Health Centre in Lviv, Eliza Dzwonkiewicz, Consul General of Republic of Poland in Lviv, donated three medical suction pumps, which will help in the therapy of COVID-19 patients. “Collaboration, solidarity, and mutual support in today’s difficult situation are of particular importance”, Dzwonkiewicz said, “This is just the beginning of our assistance. Solidarity Fund PL intends to donate more equipment to hospitals in Rudki, Sokal, and Lviv.”

The purchase was the response of Consul General in Lviv to the call from the Lviv Regional State Administration and the Hospital. Upon receiving the request, the Consulate turned to Solidarity Fund PL Representative Office in Ukraine, which decided to answer the call. The Consulate collected the equipment in Lviv and handled the logistics of supplying it to the medical facility.

The cost of the donated equipment amounts to UAH 128,400.00 (approx. PLN 21,000).

In the upcoming weeks Solidarity Fund PL Representative Office in Ukraine intends to carry on with its support for medical facilities in Lviv and other oblasts.

 

The purchase of the medical equipment was financed by the Polish development cooperation programme of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.
