Supporting Belarus in the Fight against the Coronavirus

On the 23 April 2020 a convoy with humanitarian aid left for Belarus from Warsaw. In response to the request of the Belarussian government, 75.000 litres of disinfectants, 100.000 surgical masks, and over a thousand packs of Arechin medicine were sent as part of Polish Aid in fighting the coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2). The convoy was organised by the Solidarity Fund PL with the support of State Fire Service (PSP).

Protective measures and medications were handed over at the 8th Firefighting-Rescue Unit base in Warsaw. The official donation ceremony was attended by Michał Dworczyk, Head of the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Maciej Małecki, Secretary of State at the Ministry of State Assets (MAP), Marcin Przydacz, Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vladimir Chushev, Ambassador of the Republic of Belarus to Poland, Andrzej Bartkowiak, Chief of State Fire Service, and Rafał Dzięciołowski, President of Solidarity Fund PL.

The donations will be handed over to and distributed by the Republican Medical Response Centre in Minsk (appointed by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Belarus). Part of the donation has already been unloaded at the Grodno Regional Infectious Diseases Hospital.
