We operate where courage and commitment are needed. We have a permanent presence in Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia, where we run country offices. We also support civil society in Belarus and have previously implemented projects in Armenia, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tunisia, and Myanmar.

We work in partnership with Polish non-governmental organisations and local partners. Our activities are funded by the Polish development cooperation budget, as well as by international donors – including the European Union. The Solidarity Fund PL holds the European Commission’s Pillar Assessment, which enables us to implement projects under delegated cooperation. We also serve as Poland’s contact point for OSCE election observation missions.

We are a State Treasury foundation operating under the Development Cooperation Act. Our strategic directions are set by the Foundation Council, while day-to-day operations are managed by the Management Board, appointed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland.

• 2002 – Name changed to the Polish Foundation for International Cooperation “Know-How”
• 2011 – Adoption of the Act of 16 September 2011 on Development Cooperation and reactivation of the Foundation in its current form
• 2013 – Adoption of the current name and opening of the Chisinau office
• 2019 – Opening of FSM country offices in Kyiv and Tbilisi

• 2025 – Accession to the Practitioners’ Network for European Development Cooperation
